Supported Community Connections

Individuals who want to engage in activities within the community can choose to participate in PDI’s Supported Community Connections (SCC) Program. Activities for the program are chosen by each individual and are based only on their individual interests and requirements.

Every participant’s unique interests and ideas are the inspiration for each monthly calendar of activities. Calendar events are selected by the individuals and they may choose to participate alone or with a small group of their peers who share similar goals or interests.

Activities range from shopping in order to work on money management skills, visiting a museum to learn about the history of the community and may even include participating in community club events to work on interpersonal skills and gain new friends.

Those who participate chose their schedule, their activities and their goals while in the program. These options allow individuals to obtain the most out of the great community in which they live while still having the supports needed to ensure a safe and healthy experience.
